Alarm membership types and fees

Alarm offers its Members support, networking, training and recognition for their excellent work. To join Alarm, select the relevant membership type below.

Organisations providing services to communities and citizens

Full membership is available to risk professionals who work for local authorities (metropolitan, county, district, unitary), first responders (police, fire and rescue, ambulance services), housing (registered providers, ALMOS, local authorities), charities, the Government, the education sector (universities/colleges) and companies commissioned to provide services to communities and citizens.

Join through your organisation or as an individual. Paying as an individual? Alarm membership is tax deductible and payable by instalments.

For organisations with one to three full memberships, benefits cannot be transferred to colleagues. For organisations with four or more full memberships, benefits can be transferred to colleagues excluding attendance at the Alarm National Conference.

Private sector organisations

Associate membership is available to organisations with five or fewer employees that provide services to our full Members, or to sponsoring organisations wishing to increase their membership entitlement. Organisations with six or more employees can purchase associate membership as part of a sponsorship package.

  • Free attendance to ALL Alarm one day events providing access to professionals managing risk in organisations providing services to communities and citizens.

Benefits cannot be transferred to colleagues, unless an Alarm Sponsor.

Unemployed / retired individuals

Available to previous full Members of Alarm who have been made redundant and are actively seeking re-employment, or have retired and are willing and able to contribute to the aims and objectives of the organisation.

This category of membership is available to an individual who has been a Member of Alarm for at least the previous five years (or in special circumstances, a shorter period as determined by Alarm).

Available to any person currently studying full time for a recognised risk management or risk related degree.

In order to be accepted for this category of membership, proof of full time education status will be required in writing from the course tutor.
