Risk Manager

Salary: £41,846 - £44,697
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Wakefield City Centre

The Council's Internal Audit and Risk service has undergone significant change to enhance its arrangements for the provision of independent assurance over the effectiveness of the Council's arrangements for managing risk, governance and internal control. As part of this process Wakefield Council are now looking to appoint an experienced and qualified individual to lead on risk and to take forward the implementation of effective risk management framework across the Council.

This role provides an ideal opportunity for a self-motivated individual who is looking for new challenges and gaining experience of working for an ambitious and dynamic organisation. Reporting to the Service Manager of Internal Audit & Risk, you will have personal accountability over the management of the Council's corporate risk function and will lead on all risk management matters in the Council. You will lead and coordinate a programme of work across the Council to develop, implement and maintain an effective risk management framework that encourages balanced risk taking and provide expert knowledge and guidance on operational risk.

Risk Advisor

Salary: Up to £35,000
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: County Hall, Chelmsford
Closing date: Tuesday 19 June 2018

Essex County Council are looking for a Risk Advisor to join their Risk & Insurance team. The role will provide risk management advice and guidance across the organisation and provide assurance that appropriate arrangements are in place for senior leaders and managers to effectively manage their risks. 

The Risk Advisor will build customer relationships which will promote the discipline of risk management and help to inform decision making.  Understanding and responding to customer needs and delivering a service which makes a real difference to the organisation and how it manages risk.

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level or working towards a professional qualification in risk management. They will be required to have significant experience of delivering risk management strategies. This role will contribute to embedding a comprehensive risk management framework which will assist in the achievement of strategic objectives.
