  • Alarm Chairman, Wayne Rigby has been in discussions with MMI on behalf of the Alarm membership and whilst they cannot confirm the extent of the financial impact to members at this stage, they have confirmed the following.
  • The Government has today released their long awaited consultation on whiplash claims.
  • Further to recent consultations on the proposed extension of the RTA PI scheme, Alarm is now being asked to prepare a response on the proposed levels of fixed recoverable costs that will apply to the scheme.
  • Alarm is pleased to provide a further response to the Civil Procedure Rule Committee Consultation on the Extension of the RTA PI Scheme consultation documents issued.
  • A decision has been made by the MMI Board of Directors to trigger the Scheme of Arrangement because a solvent run-off can no longer be foreseen.
  • Alarm, the public risk management association and the Forum of Insurance Lawyers (FOIL) are delighted to announce the establishment of a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ agreement between the two organisations.
  • The court of appeal has delivered judgement in the important case of Simmons –v- Castle and Alarm having supported the challenge welcomes the outcome.
  • Alarm is delighted to announce that the Alarm’s Risk Management Toolkit has been shortlisted for Risk Management Product of the Year at The CIR Risk Management Awards 2012.
  • Thanks to the generosity of the 2012 Alarm Annual Awards Dinner Guests and raffle supporters, Simon Davis, Immediate Past Chairman of Alarm, was delighted to present a cheque of £1,942 to the 1st Llandysul Scout Group, his nominated Chairman’s Charity.
  • Government Procurement Service and Pro5 are working in close partnership to resolve a pressing need in the public sector and develop a national compliant insurance framework by the end of 2012.
