"Risk Management Product of the Year"

Welcome to the Alarm
CIPFA
Risk Management
Benchmarking Club 2012
The 2012 Risk Management Benchmarking Club
is now open!
Launched in 2010, and
operating successfully for two years, the Alarm CIPFA Risk
Management Benchmarking Club has been given the accolade of ‘Best
Risk Management Product of the Year’ at the 2011 Risk Management
Awards. The judges recognised the value that the Club brought
to its member organisations in enhancing their risk management and
organisational performance. The 2012 Club is now open for
applications.
The Alarm CIPFA Risk Management
Benchmarking Club provides a unique opportunity to record and
benchmark your organisation’s risk management activities,
demonstrate achievement and learn from others to further enhance
performance in these challenging times.
What did 2011's members say about the Benchmarking
Club?
I have found the Benchmarking Club
experience provides real value in shaping and
delivering our risk management strategy. From
the comparison of how we are doing against our peers, through to
identifying strengths and areas for development in our own
organisation, the Benchmarking Club has given us access to data
which ensures that our risk management framework will continue to
be effective in all the right areas.
Corporate Risk Manager, Fire Service
The
benchmarking club has provided me with reassurance that the work I
have
completed and plan to undertake should improve the
organisation’s risk maturity and risk awareness of individuals.
With CIPFA working with Alarm on the benchmarking club, it has
given instant credibility to the framework and authority on the
areas we need to improve.
Force Risk Manager, Police
Service
This is the
first time we have joined the Risk Management Benchmarking Club.
We have found this a useful platform and we will be
using this to enable us to create an Action Plan, to assist in the
development of our Risk Management Process and Procedures.
Embedding Risk Management into the culture of any organisation
takes time, therefore tracking our progress in this formalised
approach will certainly help us to monitor and maintain our growth
in this area of the business.”
Assurance Manager, Social
Housing
This is the
second year that we have completed the Alarm/CIPFA Risk Management
Benchmarking Exercise. We find this is a beneficial tool to
use to identify areas of strength and weakness. If used
accurately, the tool provides you with an outline of areas to be
improved and developed which can inform your team plan for the
following year.
It is a useful exercise to undertake to
provide comparative data with all participants but also
more
specific comparisons can be made with similar
organisations in size and demographics which can be useful when
identifying areas of improvement.”
Risk Management Officer, Local
Authority
