About Us
The Alarm Police group was founded as
a Special Interest Group back in 2005 and since then it has
developed and become a focal point for police risk management for
those people both inside and outside the service. It is the
intention of Alarm's Police Group to raise the profile of its
members, Alarm and the Police Group within this environment to
support the ongoing development of Risk Management in the UK Police
Service.
The Group represents 39 of the 43
police forces in England and Wales; four of the eight police
forces in Scotland; and the Civil and Nuclear Constabulary and the
British Transport Police. This varied membership provides the group
with many great challenges.
The Alarm Police Group's future
objectives include:
- To provide a medium through which
information on all aspects of risk management can be researched,
collated and communicated to member forces.
- To identify, develop and promote good practice in respect
of all issues pertaining to risk management, ent in the police
service, in particular issues that would benefit from the
deployment of a national approach.
- To develop the risk management skills and knowledge of the
group's police service membership through identification of skills
and training needs, and the presentation of workshops, seminars and
courses designed to meet those needs.
- To develop a closer working relationship with other blue light
services to share good risk manaagement practice and develop
learning opportunities.
