The recent Alarm Police Group
Spring seminar featured a number of informative
sessions delivered by practitioners, insurers and public
sector procurement agencies. The seminar began
with delegates being given an overview of the impact
of Police & Crime Commissioners to risk management, including
questioning what is governance, the role of the Audit Committee and
the consequences of poor internal controls. Following this,
delegates were informed of the current and emerging
risks across the police service, based on the results of
the members survey held in the last quarter
of 2012. The seminar concluded in the
afternoon, with a presentation from the Government
Procurement Service and Pro5, on the first national
insurance framework that will drive savings for the public
sector. To view all the presentations from the day, please
