ALARM Annual Conference 2008:

Innovation, Inspiration, and Information

29th June - 1st July 2007

Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel

The ALARM Annual Conference has been inspiring risk practitioners for 16 years and, in 2008, takes ‘Innovation, Inspiration, and Information’ as its theme.

The Annual Conference 2008 will bring together a host of inspirational speakers from the cutting edge of risk management innovation, and the front line of practice. The Conference will deliver more than 60 hours of educational sessions, giving delegates information and insight to apply in their own workplace.

Due to the popularity of 2007's specialist, streamed sessions, 2008 sees an expanded selection of themed talks and workshops across housing, fire, local authorities, police, central government, health & safety, and insurance sectors.

The Conference will incorporate three lectures on hot risk management topics running alongside the streamed sessions. Subjects featured in the lecture series include: preparing London for the 2012 games; an update on the latest legal and regulatory changes; and risk management and performance.

Day two of the Conference features a wide range of talks and workshops on diverse subjects including partnership, strategic risk, fraud, BCM, DCA reforms, and the ever-topical issue of flooding. The popular mock trial session will run again this year, along with sessions on training and soft skills.

2007 was ALARM’s most successful conference to date, with more than 350 delegates attending and nearly 40 exhibitors. The exhibition will be back in 2008 and we expect it to be even bigger and better than last year, in the newly refurbished Hilton Birmingham Metropole.

The Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel is just 10 minutes from Birmingham International Airport and 20 minutes from Birmingham New Street Station. The hotel offers a superb venue for the ALARM Conference, exhibition, and Awards under one roof. Discounted room rates will be available to delegates on a first come, first served basis.
