
About the Toolkit
This toolkit has been developed by Alarm in
association with Marsh in response to the growing demand across
public service organisations for a simple ‘how to’ guide to the
management of risk.
The toolkit is of particular use to risk managers and non-risk
professionals who may find themselves, as a result of
reorganisation or taking on additional responsibilities within
their organisation, responsible for managing risk processes at
strategic, operational programme or project levels. It is also
an ideal tool for training and developing staff to manage risk more
effectively.
The toolkit is designed to provide all the information and
supporting templates required to develop, implement and maintain
your organisation’s approach to managing risk. The toolkit is an
interactive document which provides links to external guidance and
further sources of information throughout. Additional resources in
the form of presentations, template questionnaires and action plans
are also included.
The management of risk principles and
processes contained within this toolkit can be applied at the
operational level of the organisation, used to improve performance
or integrated with strategic planning, projects, programmes and
partnerships.
