Management of
Risk (M_o_R®)
Alarm in association with
Maven Training is providing
Management of Risk (M_o_R®)
accredited courses for Foundation and Practitioner levels.
What is M_O_R®?
M_O_R® is part of a
suite of Best Practice Guidance publications published by the UK
Government's Office of Government Commerce (OGC), which is the
basis for various accreditation and qualification schemes.
M_o_R® covers a wide
range of topics, including strategic, programme / project risk
management and operational service risk management as well
as business continuity management, security and health and
safety. These topics are placed in the context of an organisational
framework for the management of risk.
Working with Maven Training, Alarm
has ensured that the course is tailored to meet the needs of
practitioners in the public sector. In addition Maven Training
provide pre-course support material through their own website which
contributes to the above average pass rate for this
qualification.
For more detailed information can
be found on the official M_o_R®
website.
Who
is it for?
The accredited course is aimed at
risk practitioners who may be working at corporate, programme,
project or operational levels within the organisation and who need
an in-depth knowledge of the risk process. In other words, the
course is aimed at all staff with responsibility for managing
risk.
The course is of equal value to
both experienced and relatively new risk professionals as well as
individuals who may have a key role in helping to manage programme
/ project risk.
Many Alarm members have already
been successful in passing the Practitioner Certificate and have
found the qualification to be of real value in the workplace:
"The course was very
challenging but useful. I picked up some new ideas that I have
implemented in the workplace", Richard Feltham, Corporate
Governance and Risk Manager, Kent & Medway Towns Fire
Authority
"I attended this course at the start of my career in
Risk, and it certainly proved to be an intensive week. The course,
through its useful and comprehensive handbook, genuinely covers all
the areas necessary for a full understanding of Risk Management...
I found the practical examples supporting the theory really made my
understanding clearer, and thought the course managed to stick to
the most important areas.... By the end of the week, I was looking
forward to taking the theory I had learnt and applying it to ‘real
life’ back at work", Matt Powell, Corporate Risk Officer, London
Borough of Hackney.
What is involved?
M_o_R® is intensive and
challenging but there is a lot of support provided to delegates
