Anglia teams up with Weightmans for Mock Inquest
On a cold winters day a road
traffic crash occurs leaving one man fatally injured. But who
is to blame for this tragedy?
Was it the Driver? Was he speeding
or driving carelessly? Could it have been a fault with the highway
itself? Maybe he hit a pot hole and lost control? Perhaps it was a
Winter Maintenance issue - was the road icy? Has the road been
gritted? Or could it even have been due to a Highways design
issue?
The Mock Inquest will highlight the
importance of thorough evidence and witness participation. The aim
of this session is to offer practical guidance for anyone who is
required to participate in an inquest.
Although based on a highways
related case study, this event is open to anyone who would benefit
from attending this interactive session.
A Partner from Weightmans is
playing the role of the Coroner whilst other members of the legal
profession will be sharing their knowledge and experience as
standard inquest proceedings are followed. We do however require
some volunteers to play the part of witnesses. If you have
experience with Highways issues and would be
